H-E-B Recalls Hill Country Fare Tuna Due to Being Potentially Undercooked

ucm491527H-E-B is voluntarily recalling 224 cases (10,752 cans) of Hill Country Fare brand 5 ounce Chunk Light Tuna in Oil. This recall has been initiated because the product, produced at a co-packer, may have been undercooked due to an equipment malfunction, which was uncovered during a routine inspection. These deviations were part of the commercial sterilization process and could result in contamination by spoilage organisms or pathogens, which could lead to life-threatening illness if consumed.

The product was sold at H-E-B Texas stores in single cans between Feb. 24, 2016 and March 16, 2016.

The recalled Hill Country Fare Chunk Light Tuna in Oil product has a UPC code of 0 4122065335 5 and a product lot code of 6O9FZ SCEES. Best By date is 2/9/19.
